I have tested my receiver and found it does not work? What is wrong with my Fence?
  • To determine where your Invisible Fence problem is, lets look at all of the physical parts of your system.
TRANSMITTER: The transmitter is the "brain" of your fence. It is usually located in your garage or somewhere outside. We have several different models. Look on the outside of your box to see which model you have.

You have a WIREBREAK if:

Model

ICT 700, 725, 750, 775, 250, 150, 100

Alarm will be sounding
Gate

Solid Green Light
ICT 50, 75 Blinking Light
CT4000 No or dim red light
*Note: if there is no light at all, there is no power getting to your system. Check the outlet with another device (i.e.: hairdryer) and make sure the outlet is working. Also, make sure your transmitter is plugged all the way in. If the device works in your outlet, but your system still has no light, call us for a service call.

What to do if MULTIPLE RECEIVERS are not functioning:

  • Your transmitter could be set on the wrong frequency. On all of the above models there is a little black switch that says "10k" and "7k" on either side of the switch. Flip that switch to the opposing side and now check your collars. If they are still not working, call the office to set up a service call.

Wire: The physical wires buried and/or attached to the fence making the perimeter for your Invisible Fence®.

  • If your transmitter looks to be functioning properly, your receiver seems to be functioning properly, the battery is new or still has power, and you have had a storm in your area recently, there is a possibility of a lightning strike.
  • Lightning strikes can short out your wire. In the case of a lightning strike, your transmitter will look as if it is functioning properly, but in reality it is not.
  • Your box may also be burnt. This is a sure sign of a lightning strike.
  • To fix a lightning strike you will have to call our office for a service call
RECEIVER: the receiver is the plastic part of your collar that provides the correction.

  • How old is the battery? When was the last time you changed the battery? Our batteries only last three months. If your battery is older than three months, please purchase a battery plan from our shopping cart.
  • Check the fit of the collar. There should be a 1-FINGER clearance between the receiver and the neck.
  • If your battery is new, you have a correct fit, and there is no wirebreak, your collar may need to be replaced. Call us at 1-800-896-7387 and we can tell you what kind of warranty your collar has and if you need to have it replaced.
  • If you have multiple receivers that are not working, See the transmitter section to troubleshoot.
*Note: The receiver is the only part of the collar that can be under warranty. The nylon collar is not under warranty. To order a new nylon colar, visit our Shopping page.


BATTERY: referring to the battery in the receiver

If you think your battery is new, but your receiver is not functioning:

  • Remove the battery and observe the two prongs. They should be almost straight to have a proper connection with the receiver.
  • Blow the dust/dirt out of the cavity
  • Purchasing a battery tester is a good idea so you can always know how much power your battery has. Visit our Shopping page to purchase one today.

TRAINING:

Call the office is all your equipment appears to be functioning correctly, but your dog is getting out of the system.
